Simon Hughes is the guy who sits in the technical van during Test matches for Channel 4. Famed for his 'jargon busting', he's written a guide to playing test cricket. Although aimed at beginners, often with elementary comments, there's loads for the experienced cricket fan, with detailed explanations of concepts such as declarations, fielding positions and different types of bowling action.

Hughes takes each and every aspect of Test Cricket and breaks it down, explaining what it means and how Test players have put it into action. There's also plenty of helpful diagrams drawn all over with red pen to aid explanation, including drawings of umpire signals, common fielding positions and correct head positions at the crease for batsman.

Overall, a glossy, impressive effort from The Analyst. Everything he's ever said about Cricket on Channel 4 and more all compiled into a handy companion.
