Kumar Sangakarra (born October 22, 1977) is a retired Sri Lankan cricketer, considered one of the best cricketers in the word. He is second in the number of international runs, only behind Sachin Tendulkar and the highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka in both ODI's and Tests, overtaking Sanath Jaysuriya's record. He retired on August 24, 2015 against a home test match against India. In the 2014 Bangaldesh tour, he smashed 319, behind the third Sri Lankan player to do so. He had a very strong partnership with team-mate, Mahela Jayawardene and the two have broken many records together.
